Get hold of some old exam papers in your subject and see if you can identify questions that fall into the following categories:
Questions explicitly demand reference to particular cases (e.g. from your own professional experience)
Questions which start with concrete particulars and then invite you to relate them to the abstract framework of the subject.
Questions which demand an answer in which each section starts with a general statement followed by one or more particular examples.
Look back at an assignment that you have written in the recent past. Did your answer interpret the question correctly? If not, briefly outline how your answer might be improved.
